There are fantastic coastal walks from Looe along the south west coast path

Beaches in SE Cornwall

East Looe beach

Pictured above, this is one of the most popular in the area, and rightly so. It’s a family friendly sandy beach which provides safe swimming and has the advantage of having all services nearby. Because it is our main family beach there is an all year round dog ban. An all terrain wheelchair is available from East Looe Town Trust, phone 01503 263709

Hannafore, West Looe

Lying below a long promenade, the beach at West Looe is a mix of rock pools and shingle beach. There is free parking on road above, facilities nearby and dogs are allowed.

Plaidy

A small beach to the east of Looe. There is no parking nearby and no facilities.

Millendreath

Nice sandy beach close to Looe. The Black Rock Beach Resort is in the process of redeveloping the area and has a café right on the front. There is parking nearby and an all year round dog ban.

Talland Bay

With strong links to smuggling in the past, narrow lanes lead down to this picturesque bay between Looe and Polperro. There is a mixture of rock pools and sand, two seasonal cafes and parking.

Seaton

Large sand and shingle beach five miles east of Looe. Very popular with dog owners who like to walk along the beach to Downderry. Parking behind beach at the start of the Seaton Valley Countryside Park. Seaton has a shop, pub and cafes.

Whitsand Bay

Long sandy beaches at bottom of sloping cliffs in the east of the area. Best place for surfing in area but rip currents can make it dangerous for swimming. Life Guards stationed at Freathy during summer season.

Lantic Bay

National Trust owned beach, reached by 20 min walk from car park across fields and down a steep path. Swimmers should be aware of strong currents and shelving sands. No facilities.

Lansallos (West Coombe)

Secluded cove at the end of an old smugglers path from the 13th century church at Lansallos. No facilities.

And much more to see and do
