Type: Aquarium

Visit the Lobster Hatchery and see for yourself how science is helping to conserve the fishing tradition in Cornwall and beyond. From baby lobsters to giant lobsters and crabs, the Visitor Centre offers a window into the hatchery. We release around 30,000 baby lobsters a year off the coast of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and you and your family can see the baby lobsters growing up, ready to be released. You can even adopt a lobster of your own for just £2.50.

The main attraction has to be seeing the young lobsters growing up ready to be released, but we also have our resident giant lobster "Herman" and Edible and Spider Crabs. We display a wealth of information about lobsters, the fishery and marine conservation, as well as activities for all ages. We also have a gift shop area with sea-life related goods and a range of books about marine life and Cornwall.

Road Directions

Follow the road into Padstow, past the Tesco turning on your right hand side, dow the hill, take the next right. Follow the road all the way down the hill until you reach a 180 degree u-bend in the road. Go straight on at this point (do not follow the u-bend round) and drive into the car park. As the road bends to the left, the National Lobster Hatchery building is right in front of you. Park your car and you're here.
